A Tutu and a Christmas Tree

12.22.2011

When I am not doing "school" with Big Brother, running around cleaning the house like a mad woman I love to fill my time with crafts.  And just in time for Christmas, I made my little girl this sweet Christmas Tutu and Christmas Tree Tshirt!
Thanks to Pinterest, I had "pinned" the Tutu tutorial and Christmas Tree Ribbon shirt a month or so ago, and finally got around to doing it. And just in time for Christmas!

I purchased all of my supplies at Hobby Lobby and I am pretty happy with how they both turned out.  I bought 4 different kinds of ribbon and a pack of green bows.  I cut them varying lengths to create a Christmas Tree shape, applied glue, and pressed the ribbon onto the shirt.  Before you glue, make sure to put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt or else you will glue the shirt together!

I found the tutorial for the Christmas Tree Shirt at B.j brewing.  I used Jones Tones Fabric Glue for every piece.  Crossing my fingers that it all stays on what it is time to be washed!  *Update! Still together after being washed!
And the tutu tutorial was from Plumtickled.  I used four colors of tulle-- lime green, white, plain pink, and a sparkly pink.  I cut my tulle give or take at 14 inches... I was cutting it by our Christmas tree, in the dark, so the only lights were from the tree!  Needless to say, the tutu is not perfect, but it's not bad for a first-timer!

I get a little "obsessed" with my crafts, so who knows Little Sis may end up with twenty more tutu's by the end of the month!

Hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I'd love for you to follow along so you never miss out on one of our fun activities we share at School Time Snippets!
