Hi Friends!
I'm Kristina, the writer.. the creative mind... the homeschooling mama... behind this blog, School Time Snippets.
School Time Snippets started as a way to keep family and friends in the loop of our homeschool happenings, but with more kiddos underfoot now, it has morphed into sharing tried and true activities I have created to help my kiddos learn.
Every now and then I veer off course, but my goal here has been to share fun, hands-on activities and printables to help you learn and play with your kiddos today!
You'll see a variety of activities, but hands-on games are my jam. Our Fractions BINGO Game is very popular for elementary kiddos and our PlayDough Shapes Activity is a hit amongst the Toddler, Preschool, and Kindergarten crowd! And one of my favorite activities is this Uppercase & Lowercase Fine Motor Letter Matching Activity.
With kids spanning newborn - upper elementary, I share activities for all ages. I've got you covered for fun ways to play with the little babes, toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary.
However, with trying to keep MY littles busy while my oldest is working on his set curriculum, I have definitely shared more than enough toddler and preschool activities to keep your littles busy!
In fact, I created a literature based preschool curriculum, for ages 3-5, due to my love of children's books and believing there's so much more to glean from a book than just the text!
I'd also say you'll find lots of activities to help your child work on fine motor skills. Just a few years ago, several bloggers and I put together a collaborative work of our favorite fine motor skills activities in book form!
Gah! I'm a published author... never mind that it's self-published! I have always wanted to write a book! I never specified what kind of book, so YAY! Something to cross off my list!
More About Me
Every now and again, as I think back on how we started to homeschool, I chuckle at the thought that if you had asked me 15-20 years ago if I would homeschool... I would have said, "yeah right!!"
However, my ways are not God's ways, and He for sure has a sense of humor! I go into a bit more detail of how we began our homeschool journey in this post: Should YOU Homeschool?
And no, not every day is "peachy keen" around here-- the kiddos may have argued for the zillionth time, I may still be in a "woke up on the wrong side of the bed" funk, the kitchen may be strewn with dishes and the living room couch cushions made into a "hot lava" course, but I wouldn't trade this opportunity for the world!
Homeschool is our life and life is our homeschool. Fast forward, I now have 5 kiddos! This blog started when I started our Five in a Row Kindergarten Journey with my first-born. He's now in 6th grade!!
Names are kept private, but next in line is Big Sis, followed by two boys, and Baby M. Life is busy around here.... but as the saying goes, This is my circus, and these are my monkeys! ha!
We've used a variety of curriculum over the years, and I am a "cherry-picking" homeschooler with using what I like from different models of education. You can read through many of our curriculum reviews.
With all that said, I'm SO glad you are here!!
I hope you enjoy teaching your kids-- from littles to bigs-- using some of the fun, hands-on activities from this blog!
Kristina
