We love to add some movement and fun into our learning activities.
And when the sun begins to shine after a few months of winter weather, my son is all for being outside.
So put learning, movement, fun, and being outside together and we came up with a Spelling List Easter Egg Hunt using plastic easter eggs.

Easter Egg Spelling Activity
In each Easter Egg I placed the letter puzzle pieces that would spell one of my son's spelling words when he put the letters together in the correct order.
Then I hurried outside and hid the Easter Eggs all over our deck.
Then I hurried outside and hid the Easter Eggs all over our deck.
Being that this was our "introduction" day of our spelling list, I provided my son with our spelling word cards.
This was to help familiarize him with the spelling of each word, notice any spelling patterns that were taught, and to see the connection of letters within the word.
Once he found all the eggs, he cracked them open and worked on piecing the letter tiles together.
We just love the alphabet puzzle pieces and have used them many other times to practice our spelling words; they are also great for sneaking in fine motor practice!
We bought a huge bag of them from Walmart some time ago.
