Math beads are a Montessori method used to help children understand numbers. They help children easily see quantity and how numbers relate to one another. Being able to touch and see numbers increases mathematical understanding.

Using a festive Christmas decoration, I made our own math beads for the numbers 1-10.Montessori Inspired Math Beads
What you need:
- string of beaded garland
- scissors
All you are going to do is cut the garland so that each number is represented by a string of beads
. Thus, 1=1 bead, 2=string of 2 beads, 10= string of 10 beads.So simple!
Cut several sets so that you can use them to work on:
number recognition
addition
multiplication
skip counting
