PUMPKIN SHAPES
To go along with the book, Five Little Pumpkins, we created a set of Pumpkin Shape Puzzle Cards.
Supplies:
- Pumpkin Shape Puzzle Printable
- Laminator
- Scissors
These pumpkin shapes printables are a fun way to work on shape recognition with your toddler and/or preschooler this Fall season!
My 3 year old loves puzzles and went right to work matching each pumpkin shape!
PUMPKIN SHAPE PUZZLES
To set up the activity, you will need to download and print the pumpkin shape puzzle cards.
Laminate for durability; not a deal-breaker, but with little hands, laminating the shape cards help them last longer!
Cut each card in half to create a puzzle. I cut the cards straight down the middle, however you could also cut the cards in zigzags, diagonals, etc!
Pumpkin Shapes Puzzles for Shape Identification
There are 10 pumpkin shape cards included in this free printable set; your child will practice identifying a:
- circle
- square
- heart
- diamond
- rectangle
- oval
- triangle
- hexagon
- pentagon
- octagon
When the pumpkin shapes cards have been cut into two pieces, spread them all out and have your child match the two pieces together to make the correct shape.
Completely optional, but you could add magnets tot he back of the cards so this activity could be used on the refrigerator and/or an old cookie sheet!
We hope you enjoy all things pumpkin this October, too!!
