Every couple of months my kiddos get in a "coloring frenzy." They just cannot get enough of coloring! Soon enough, with 4 kiddos coloring away, we have new pictures everywhere from Pokemon characters to fairies to monster trucks.

I love their focus and colorful creations, but for the next time they are in their ''coloring frenzy," I created a couple coloring worksheets that are fun, yet educational.

I know not EVERYTHING needs to have some type of educational "extra," but I just can't help it. I mean, if my kiddos are coloring... why not color shapes?

SHAPE COLORING WORKSHEETS

Hence why I created these shape coloring worksheets. In this 'bundle,' are three different coloring sheets that give your child a ''key'' to how to color in the picture.

Squares are green, triangles are orange, circles are to be colored blue, hearts are red, and stars are purple.

Then, once all the shapes have been colored in, your preschool and/or Kindergarten kiddo can count how many of each shape there are and write the number in the box below the shape.

Get the box of crayons ready!

.... or colored pencils, or markers... whatever floats your boat! Okay, maybe not ''whatever.'' I guess I've been hanging around my teenage son too much. HA!

Have a toddler in the mix? You could have him/her use dot markers to ''color'' in the shapes.

If you'd rather not color on these worksheets, you could place them in a page protector and provide colorful manipulatives, such as buttons or pom poms.

Go ahead, print these shape coloring worksheets out for your kiddo(s). He/she will decorate a cookie, make a colorful unicorn, and/or color some dinosaurs.
